Camping with your local group or District Association (DA) is one of the best ways to make the most of the great outdoors whilst making new friends at the same time. The Club has 93 DA’s spread across 13 Regions.
Being part of a camping community also opens doors to new camping locations, insider knowledge on the best spots to visit, and a sense of belonging to a supportive and welcoming group. Whether you are a seasoned camper or a beginner looking to embark on new adventures, joining a camping community in the UK enriches the overall camping experience and creates a sense of camaraderie that makes every trip more enjoyable
They offer some of the most inexpensive camping available and you’ll always be guaranteed a warm friendly welcome. Members are welcome to attend any Meet, whether it’s organised by your own DA or a different DA elsewhere in the country.
Your local DA is shown on your membership card and is based on your home postcode. To belong to the same DA as family or friends it’s easy to change or ‘opt’ to a different DA. Simply contact the Secretary of the District Association you would like to move to and they will send you an Opting Form to complete and return to them together with your Membership Cards.
The area we cover is wide and varied, with 2, 3, 4, 5 days and temporary holiday meets available. Some of the best scenery and walking in the country, from quiet locations to major towns.

Who we are:
When Cumberland, Westmorland & Furness all amalgamated in 1969, Lakeland District Association was formed.
Joining a camping community in the UK, such as the Lakeland District Association (LDA), offers a plethora of benefits for outdoor enthusiasts. Our community provides a platform to connect with like-minded individuals who share a passion for exploring the great outdoors and creating lasting memories. Members can enjoy organized meets throughout the year, where they can socialize, exchange camping tips, and build friendships.

A. Look in the Out and About pages of Camping & Caravanning magazine for details of the Meets, Temporary Holiday Sites and events which are organised all over the country.
Alternatively you can download the ‘Out & About’ app, which provides listings of camping meets and temporary holiday sites run by members of the Camping and Caravanning Club which are ideal for short or long stays and often in or close to scenic locations.

Join The Camping and Caravanning Club today to benefit from over 100 years of expertise as well as specially selected discounts tailored to our members. As soon as you are a member you will be assigned to a District Association (DA). This will be the closest DA to where you live and shown on your membership card. You are then free to go camping with any of the 93 DA's over 13 Regions in the UK.
